In Loving Memory

My husband's grandma died last week.  Inside the memorial card was the following poem:

God hath not promised
Skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways
All our lives through;
God hath not promised
Sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow,
Peace without pain.

But God hath promised
Strength for the day,
Rest for the labor,
Light for the way.
Grace for the trials,
Help from above,
Unfailing sympathy
Undying love...

  1. I've never read that poem before, but it's perfect for anyone coping with a loss. I can certainly see why it was in the memorial card.

May Gd comfort your family as you cope with this loss.

  2. It's a lovely poem Tonya. I hope that all things have gone well for your husband and the family in this tough time.
